Although the price may be a little bit higher than taking a bus, you can venture in slow pace through the picturesque landscape and stop anywhere you want. On your way, there are many remarkable locations that you can visit.
If you have time and decent health, consider traveling to Hoi An by motorbike.
Stopping on the Way
3. Private car/taxi
The most expensive method is to rent a private car or taxi in your trip to Hoi An. However, it is also worth the price since you can stop at anytime you want to take pictures or to relax in the beautiful nature. One minor advantage of private car is that it will take you straight to the hotel without taking an additional bus. Therefore, if you have money to spend, go for it.
Traveling by train is a little bit tricky here since there is no train station in Hoi An. As a result, the only way you can reach Hoi An by train is to arrive in the train station in Danang and then take a bus or private car to Hoi An. It is possible to watch the breathtaking scene on the way, though the cost is not really cheap (about 3$ - 5$ depends on the carriage). It is not advised to take the train, but you can try if interested.
5. Tour Services
Finally, tour operators are always available during your travel to Vietnam, thus you can easily book one for your trip. Tour services offer a wide range of transportation, including private car and motorbike. Tour guide will also available to bring you useful information about famous sites and beautiful spot to take photos. Even though the cost may not as cheap as traveling by yourself, you will not have to bother researching about the accommodation (just tell them about your preference).
