Cu Chi Tunnels is a must-visit site for tourists who love to experience the true feelings of the Vietnam War. It is pretty easy to travel from Ho Chi Minh City to the tunnels, so, in this post, you will know how to travel from the heart of the South to this special location.
1. By Bus
For budget traveler, we recommend you to take the bus to Cu Chi tunnels. It is the cheapest way and convenient if you do not want to spend much money on transportation. However, you will have to catch 2 buses to finally reach Cu Chi tunnels. The first one will be bus number 13 which will take you to Cu Chi bus station and then bus 79 to the tunnels. Alternatively, it is possible to take a motorcycle taxi without bus 79.
Another downside is that you have to follow the schedule of the buses, so there are chances that you will be late than expected.
2. By Taxi/ Private car
Taxi and private car are always available in Ho Chi Minh and they will happy to transfer you from the city about 50 km to Cu Chi tunnels. In contrast with buses, this is more expensive, but it is also more flexible. In term of other disadvantages, a taxi will only wait for you in certain duration (6 hours and so on) and additional waiting hour will add to the total cost.
3. By Tour services
Tour services seem to be a much more popular and safe choice for your travel in Vietnam. From Ho Chi Minh City, tour operator will offer a wide range of choices regarding your transportation. The most significant feature is that if you book a tour, there will be a choice of traveling by speedboat.
Speedboat to Cu Chi tunnels is a fantastic way for foreigners to contemplate the countryside and beautiful sceneries of Mekong Delta during your travel to Vietnam. From the hotel, a private car will await to take you from Ho Chi Minh to Bach Dang Pier. Soft drinks and fruits may also available during transfer time to regain energy.
