Table of Contents
Toggle1. By Flight
We recommend you to take a direct flight from Ho Chi Minh to Phu Quoc if you do not have time or simply want to enjoy your trip on the island. This is also the most convenient method compare to the other one. Flight duration is extremely fast, about 1 hour, and the price is about 55 $ to 90 $ one way depending on the type of ticket.
On the downside, it is a little bit more expensive the other method, even though if you can find a special offer then it is even cheaper. For many people, missing the beautiful sceneries on the way to Phu Quoc is a disadvantage.
2. By Ferry
There are two types of ferry available when you want to travel from Ho Chi Minh which is the fast ferry and the slow one. The fast ferry takes less time than the second option and dropped you in the tourist area on Phu Quoc. There will be more departures as well, so unless you have time for a small adventure, there is no reason to take a slow ferry.
However, one important factor that you have to do is to arrive in one of the port in Rach Gia or Ha Tien Town. You should prepare for a long travel in approximately 6-8 hours from Ho Chi Minh to those destinations. The price and travel duration are also different based on where you start. Ha Tien port is much closer to Phu Quoc than Rach Gia resulting in shorter traveling time (about 30 minutes), and cheaper price( about 8$).
3. By Tour services
For the most pleasant trip, it is advised that you book a tour from one of many operators in Vietnam. They will not only offer a wide range of services and custom tour but also arrange the accommodation for tourists. As such, you can free yourself from a lot of stress and thoughts. A tour guide is available as well, providing useful information about which place to visit and activities during your travel to Vietnam.
