1. By Bus
First of all, it is always important to mention buses, one of the most developed means of transportation in Vietnam. A notable feature of the bus is that it is very economical at about 3.5 $ per person (about 70000 VND). The final stop will be at Ninh Binh Station after approximately 2 hours, which is located in the center of Ninh Binh city.
In terms of disadvantage, you will have to reach Giap Bat Station to catch the bus, even though they are really frequent. If you do not stay in the center of Ninh Binh, then you must rent a taxi or take another bus to your final destination.
2. By Motorbike
Motorbike is for people who have a liking for adventure and good health. With only 90 km, it is also a budget choice for tourists and you will have your own vehicle to travel around Ninh Binh. Moreover, the picturesque scenes of the countryside along the way are worthwhile and provide a good opportunity for photographers.
However, the way to Ninh Binh is not really comfortable and sometimes dangerous. Another (minor) downside is that you need to research about the way before traveling.
3. By Bicycle
If you want to try something more thrilling, it is also possible to reach Ninh Binh using only a bicycle. Offering the same advantages as the motorbike, you will follow the exact same route and contemplate the beautiful landscape of Vietnam on the way. Moreover, the bicycle is clearly the cheapest method out of all. Despite that, you should check your health carefully because the highway clearly not designed for cycler.

One popular and safe choice for both foreigners and local is taking the train from Hanoi. The price on the train depends on the seat and carriages which range from 4$ to 9$. The train is also quite a great choice for watching the scenic countryside of Vietnam after 2 hours of traveling. Nonetheless, if you do not stay in the heart of the city (which is near Ninh Binh Train Station), you need to take a taxi or bus when you arrive in Ninh Binh.
5. By Taxi
Taxi is the simplest way in the list since you simply call a taxi or pick one up near your hotel. Your drop-off point will also be arranged to your desire either in the center of Ninh Binh or anywhere else. The major disadvantage of taxi is the cost which is really high depends on how far you travel.
